Solutions Barbados is disappointed with the Ministry of Education’s weak response, to the warnings from Charlie Spice of the Adult Industry Association.

Mr Spice noted that over the past three years, there have been countless child pornography videos of Barbadian school children circulating via smart phones.  He noted that child prostitution was growing exponentially across Barbados, and that Barbados was on course to become the country with the highest rate of under-age sex in schools.

Solutions Barbados predicted a similar trend over two years ago, when the former Minister of Education allowed our students to have smart phones in schools, without the critical pornography filters.  We have repeatedly warned of the obvious harmful consequences, since it was foreseen that children will try to mimic what they repeatedly watch.  Solutions Barbados urges the BLP administration to consider the following solutions.

First, install pornography filters on all wireless routers at schools, resource centres, and anywhere where free WiFi is offered by Government.  Second, install a password-protected pornography filter on every student’s cell phone when they enter the school.  Third, start charging adults who have sex with our children.  The cost to Government to implement each of these initiatives is $0.00.

    Christianity spread from Jerusalem to Rome by foot!!

    It then “conquered” Rome and spread to the four corners of the largest Empire at the time, again by foot.

    It was in Britain, the farthest northern part of the Roman Empire by the 2nd century.

    A following wave of “conquest” a millennia later was by sea, to all corners of the globe through Europe and its various empires.

    It “overcame” constant persecution from within and threats to its existence from Islam and the Mongols.

    … and it keeps spreading as more and more people get to hear its message of salvation, the Word of God.

    It spread into Africa, up the Nile and across North Africa in the first 6-7 centuries of its existence and then by sea through its coasts right down to Cape Town.

    The empires through which it spread have come and gone yet the Word persists, available to all mankind.

    I am very familiar with the Acts of the Apostles, I have read and I understand every single word. One learns a lot from going to church most Sundays for nearly 70 years., so I am not easily deceived, nor easily mislead. I’ve learned a lot from having spent years teaching Sunday School, and from having spent a lifetime studying the Bible. I am blessed by God and as always filed with his love and his grace.

    Going to do some gardening now.

    Spent a nice few hours in the garden. For lunch cooked myself some breadfruit cou-cou, with carrots and okras on the side. All of which I grew myself. Had a little Canadian salt fish with the cou-cou. The sweet peppers, chives and garlic which flavoured the gravy I also grew myself.

    Going out now to fetch the grands.

    I am healthy and happy.

    Through here went all things nautical to America and beyond.

    The people fleeing religious persecution in England stopped here.

    How then would that same and only word of God get to the far-flung corners of Asia and Australia or even the remotest parts of the Arctic to convert the Eskimos to your God’s only way of life?

    Just as the Word of God was spread by the Roman empire, so too it was spread by the British empire.

    Barbados was part of the British empire and because of its location, the Word of God passed through it on its way to the remotest part of the Globe.

    It may be hard for you to imagine but both empires may have been created simply to do His work.

    Both however no matter how powerful they got, fell away and are no more!!

    Perhaps there is a lesson here!!

    Hal, what you may find is that Karl Marx borrowed his ideas from perhaps the Levelers and Diggers and those ideas, horror of horrors, may have their origins in the Bible!!!

    When the Bible became available in English and affordable to many, many read it.

    Many different interpretations led to a plethora of non-conformist groups who dissented from both the Roman Catholic and Church of England.

    Anyone who could read, read the Bible and it completely overturned the social order.

    The Bible caused the King to be beheaded.

    It caused the Civil War.

    It created the climate of persecution that drove first Puritans (before they won the Civil War) then Quakers and others to leave England and spread to the colonies, taking with them God’s Word.

    They killed and were killed by their own family.

    The Bible split households in England and America and Barbados, and St. Kitts etc.

    From well before 1648 the route to New England was through Barbados, St. Kitts etc.

    Here is where the Quakers (and others) came, forced to flee persecution or just trying to get to America!!!

    Many of the non conformist sects were the result of one individual’s interpretation and the forcefulness of his character in attracting followers.

    George Fox was the perfect example of such an individual and the Quakers (Society of Friends) the result!!

    The Levellers were no different, just did not last as long or morphed into various shapes and forms.
