The six month old Mottley government cannot be accused of NOT making decisions. In the relatively short time since winning the government several initiatives have been promised with few started. There are private sector projects coming online- a few that have been in the pipeline before the Mottley government took up residence in Government House.

The most recent announcement by the government issued amidst the noise of the Christmas season is the plan to litter the coastline between Hastings and Paradise Beach with about twelve hotels with four receiving upgrades. What piqued the interest of the blogmaster was that areas in St. Lucy, Christ Church and St. Phillip will be identified for tourism related projects. The blogmaster suspects deals have already been cut in smoke-filled back rooms and what is left is the PR piece.

The question Barbadians must ask- are we happy continuing to pump millions in the tourism model? The way business is done in this sector requires generous concessions to be offered AND analysts agree there is significant foreign exchange leakage associated with the segment. The blogmaster is not suggesting we should neglect a sector all admit that is paying the bills. What we want to see is a different kind of investment to grow a more resilient economy.

During the Arthur administration BU posted concerns about the extent the coastline was being carved up to serve tourism development. One expects flyovers will enter the discussion at some point. Our opposition then and still relevant is that Barbados will lose its shine as a SID if we continue to morph into a concrete jungle. We are already seeing unusual changes with our coastline to suggest decisions taken are not in harmony with the environment. We struggle with implementing a waste management and efficient water system. Is it conceivable that we should be looking to ease our hand from the tourism investment mouth?

Regional governments and by extension the citizenry have demonstrated in the last twenty years a lack of innovation and creativity in the problem solving business.

I CAME HERE BECAUSE ITS WARM ALL YEAR AROUND EXCEPT FOR WHEN A COLD FRONT OR TWO COME FROM UP YOUR SIDE

    ++++++++++++++++
Those lazy weather forecasters in the US attribute every bit of cool weather to “polar wind from Canada”, soon the hurricanes will be “strong wind from the Caribbean”. There were a couple of tornadoes up here this year, I think they were caused by hot wind from the US.

  6. YOU ARE PROBABLY RIGHT SARGE

  7. ” This will be the fourth Christmas in a row residents in St Joseph will have without running water. For the past week, they have endured frequent outages and reported that taps only ran around midnight with low pressure.”

    @ Dr. GP

Your knowledge of God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Ghost is quite profound

    A few things.

You must be a lay preacher or a priest in the making.

Secondly, the method that you use in your discourse Who Where Why When etc., was a system taught by a specific teacher that is worth its weight in gold.

Thirdly, I have to read it again about 3 times because it is too much for de ole man to absorb all at once

Let me share a thing with you.

Years ago I used to get annoyed when in the middle of something you inserted God and felt that all things of God should have their own corner.

But slowly de ole man found meself thirsting for the Word particularly that which was logical and reasoned.

Take for example “wing” in Malachi.

I was prepared to just take it as is UNTIL YOU BROUGHT ME THROUGH TASSEL and one of my most loved passages “virtue hath left me”

Then wing becomes logical and de ole man says that my God has confirmed His Word for me.

And Dr. GP I a very selfish in my ownership of God, for while I love my brothers in Christ I am on one mission first, to ensure that I di not lose my soul.

So when you effect your exegesis de ole man follows for personal gain and offers no apology for that.

So here is the thing about this

Too little is as bad as too much because, given the content, one does not get time to absorb everything

In my craft we are taught that less is more and while my drivel is nowhere in the spectrum of your food for the spirit, it is meat on the palate of the unweaned which is too much.

    Again all the best…

I LOVE TO STUDY THE WORD

RE You must be a lay preacher or a priest in the making.
I DON’T PREACH AS OFTEN AS I SHOULD
ALL BELIEVERS ARE PRIEST ACCORDING TO I PETER 2:5

RE Secondly, the method that you use in your discourse Who Where Why When etc., was a system taught by a specific teacher that is worth its weight in gold.
THAT IS THE BEST METHOD OF STUDY WHEN YOU ARE DOING A TOPIC
THE STUDY ON MALACHI 4 IS OF COURSE AN EXEGETICAL WORD STUDY

RE Thirdly, I have to read it again about 3 times because it is too much for de ole man to absorb all at once
THAT IS A GOOD WAY TO GO ABOUT APPRECIATING A STUDY

Years ago I used to get annoyed when in the middle of something you inserted God and felt that all things of God should have their own corner. WELL GOD SHOULD BE IN EVERYTHING AND SPONTANEOUSLY SO. WE NEED DIVIDE OUR LIVES INTO THE SECULAR OR MUNDANE AND THE SACRED

But slowly de ole man found meself thirsting for the Word particularly that which was logical and reasoned. Take for example “wing” in Malachi. I was prepared to just take it as is UNTIL YOU BROUGHT ME THROUGH TASSEL and one of my most loved passages “virtue hath left me” Then wing becomes logical and de ole man says that my God has confirmed His Word for me.
So when you effect your exegesis de ole man follows for personal gain and offers no apology for that
I AM GLAD THAT YOU ENJOYED IT
SO DO MY LISTENERS WHEREVER I HAVE TAUGHT THE WORD, EXCEPT BU

RE Too little is as bad as too much because, given the content, one does not get time to absorb everything
WELL COPY IT AND SAVE IT AND STUDY IT AND MODIFY IT ONCE YOU RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD IN SO DOING

ALSO IN MY TEACHING I STRIVE FOR COMPLETION WHETHER IN MEDICINE OR BIBLE
THIS TAKES A LOT OF TIME TO GET ALL ONES DUCKS IN A ROW AND A LOT OF TIME TO TEACH………BUT YOU TEND TO REMEMBER THINGS BETTER THAT WAY………….THEN YOU CAN USE THE PIECES YOU MASTER TO BETTER UNDERSTAND OTHER PASSAGES. ITS LIKE A JIG SAW PUZZLE, I THINK

THERE IS TOO MUCH SHALLOW SUPERFICIAL INACCURATE TEACHING OF THE WORD ALL OVER, AND OFTEN THE HUNGRY SOUL LOOK UP AND ARE NOT FED

In my craft we are taught that less is more and while my drivel is nowhere in the spectrum of your food for the spirit, it is meat on the palate of the unweaned which is too much.
JUST EAT IT ONE BITE AT A TIME AS SLOWLY AS YOU CAN MANAGE

REMEMBER “MASTER THE PARTS WELL AND EVENTUALLY YOU WILL GRASP THE WHOLE”

Saul knew that David was anointed King … he was anointed by Samuel you exclaimed in your sermon, but David also recognized the fact that Saul was also one of God’s anointed 1 Samuel 26:9 …

  14. Georgie Porgie

Brother, I must tell you that to better understand the word of God you have to take more of a spiritual approach to Scripture because without the Spirit of God living inside of you, you would never come to a true understanding of His word.
And moreover, your approach to Scripture is more of a teaching approach, but for a fuller understand of God’s word you have to be guided by the Holy Spirit which directs, teaches, and bring things to our understanding..

  15. Georgie Porgie

As someone who is called to preach the word of God it is important to note that every time you stand before the congregation and dispense God’s word it must have a transforming effect on the listener, or else all your religious bubble is to no avail.
