Dear Sir:

Thank you for the opportunity to appear before the joint committee on Friday 7th September 2018. It is a mark of political maturity to allow the public to comment on bills that may affect them, before they are passed into law.

It is important that legislation does what is intended, and prevents what is not intended, but which may be inadvertently allowed. To this end, the Integrity in Public Life bill was scrutinised to determine how vulnerable it was to having:

  1. @Grenville
    I am reading the document.
At this time I cannot fully assess your contribution, but I am agreeing with the comments made.

    Please keep up the effort.

  2. How Does this Compare Mr. Grenville Phillips?

The Jeff Cumberbatch Column – On the Prevention of Corruption 2

The current official imperative to establish machinery to modernize the statute that criminalizes corruption in matters of state has seemingly not met with universal acclaim, if I am to judge from a number of responses to my offering in this space last Sunday.

While there are those who believe that corrupt behaviour among public officials merits the harshest punishment constitutionally possible, there are those who, while grudgingly accepting the “optics” of passing such a statute, nevertheless remain cynical as to its likely success in curbing such corruption, given the ingrained local culture of the weak or non-enforcement of many of our penal laws and the natural tendency towards corruption….

“Dean what do you think of this?

@ FC, I think it should have been vetted by an individual with legal training before it was presented…”

It is only Common Sense to Assume that you Document had been vetted by an individual with legal training before it was presented…Knowing that your Father is a Lawyer.

From where I am sitting this was an Effort by the Dean to Dismiss your Document to Pay No Attention to its Significance as in (Nothing to see here folks carry on!)

Keep Up the Good Work Sir …Your Voice will be Heard…

  4. @GP
Don’t let anyone encourage you to exchange harsh words with Jeff…
Recognize a mixture of honey and poison.

Keep your eyes on the political battle …

  5. @TheOGazerts: TRUTH!

  6. My Intent is to Always Ask Questions…That is How we Receive Answers…

The Creator once said in explanation, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Matthew 7)

God’s intention is always for our benefit but we have to be ready to receive/hear/listen. He is eager to give us Good gifts. He will give us what we ask for and more: We after all are his children and he wants us to be joint heirs and live with Him.

Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?(Matthew 7:9–11)

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering….
    (James 1:5–6)

  7. @the OGazerts: I need to ask you to SPELL out exactly what you meant by “Don’t let anyone encourage you to exchange harsh words with Jeff

Recognize a mixture of honey and poison”.

I await your response OGazerts as my response to you may have been totally inappropriate and this archaic website has no options to edit or delete. Thank you.

Thanks for that awesome Scriptural response Freedom Crier.

  8. @ Grenville
    Sir, you said it!
Thank you for thinking about our Barbados, for the present and future.
I would like to add that prison terms be five to eight years.

    @ Beautiful Beige

What Theophillus was saying and what you did not see because you do not read all of the BU contributions is that Freedom Crier came here and read this contribution and then went to the Luminary Jeff Cumberbatch’s Blog and asked a question.

Jeff answered the question as only he can and then Freedom Crier came back here and paraphrased the answer and did not say what Jeff had said and thereby sought to bring ruption between Grenville Phillips II and The Luminary Jeff Cumberbatch.

It is somewhat disturbing given the projection of the newsbearer that her cry of freedom would be so tainted on Sunday of all days.

But all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of GOD and none is blameless save Jesus.

  10. WELL WELL WELL LOOKA MA CROSSES!!!

  11. Mr. Piece My Quote was Exactly Jeff’s Cumberbatch’s response to my Question. Please Check.

At what point as you stated did “Freedom Crier came back here and paraphrased the answer and did not say what Jeff had said and thereby sought to bring ruption between Grenville Phillips II and The Luminary Jeff Cumberbatch.”

Mr. Peace you missed the Importance of what my aim was …To Always Question as that is how we receive answers….Nothing More!

Forgive me for having an Opinion….For only those like you are untitled too…”It is only Common Sense to Assume that you Document had been vetted by an individual with legal training before it was presented…Knowing that your Father is a Lawyer.

From where I am sitting this was an Effort by the Dean to Dismiss your Document to Pay No Attention to its Significance as in (Nothing to see here folks carry on!)

Keep Up the Good Work Sir …Your Voice will be Heard…”

Both Old Greaser and yourself underestimate that Mr. Phillips is a Man of Sound Character who would not be influenced by the opinions of me or anyone else.

Were my Opinions otherwise on the Deans Column in your narrow view tainted on Sunday of all days?

Shape Up and carry on Smartly, your weakness is Envy and that is a shame but after all…”All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of GOD and none is blameless save Jesus.”

HERE IS MY STAND…THIS IS WHO AND WHAT I FOLLOW
