I agree with Gaston Browne’s suggestion that “monitoring of migrants on the island has to improve.”
I have often mentioned in this forum that several illegal Guyanese and Jamaicans have been illegally building stalls on the old Fairchild Street compound………selling food and alcoholic beverages without the mandatory health certificates and liquor licenses.
You can find several scantily dressed Jamaican women offering their “wares” for sale on Jemmotts Land and Bay Street or in the clubs in Nelson Street.
Several Guyanese can be found selling vegetables in front of the Cheapside Market, while Barbadians have to pay for market space inside the market.
And we know of instances where illegal non-nationals are squatting at Rock Hall, St. Philip and securing “house spots” for their relatives and friends.
But what is annoying is when you read their on-line papers, these people always have negative things to say about Barbados and wish for the island’s demise………….
……………yet they come here in droves, believing it’s their right to come to Barbados to do as they please.
