  1. One would think that since the dems are so sure that they will win the election, why the hesitancy to call it?

Today is exactly five years since the last election………it took 50 years for only Fumble Stuart to do the unthinkable……………go into unchartered territory.

The people who wrote the constitution probably never envisioned that a PM would used that 3 month period to hold on to power at all costs. This moron seems intent on using the time which would be used had there been some natural disaster. But there again, the morons may be right …..the dems have done more damage to Barbados than Maria did to Dominica.

If the moron goes beyond March 6………….we would know that George Street finally has come to the realization that the people done with them.

Barbadians have become numb to matters like this one. It is not surprising they are all reading in ‘silence’.

  5. Prodigal,

The laws are already in place to override any constitutional boundaries for human rights and opposition. Re: Discussion in past blogs. Given the severe problem with sewage and robbed ministers, foreign troops (China, Venezuela) could be “invited” to “stabilize” the situation. And do not forget the new GG and DPP, the two blue jokers. The offshore financial sector would vanish thanks to Cuba clauses, but nobody won´t care.

I do not believe in any regime change UNTIL elections are over.

If that is yall plan, I would advise you to change that plan. Anyone who was the exception and tinkered with the idea of investing here, despite that most are refraining until yall gone, would immediately run away as fast as they can.

That would be the last straw.

By the way, a word to the (I would say wise, but in your case, I cannot), Guyana ‘sorta maybe’ survived the idiot Burnham, because and only because it is rich in natural resources.

Barbados has very few , not much in either quantity nor volume, compared to Guyana.

    A second word.

There are many Barbadians living in New York, Canada and UK, who have family and friends here.

You can run, but you cannot hide.

The planters of the West Indies also donated money to the Governor-General of the West Indies to keep things on track.

Nothing changed, slavery still exists. The only difference is that the black masses are told to select massa A or B. The rest is the same, including the provision in Barbados that the employer must provide work clothes.

  11. Fractured,

Since you are a DEM, maybe you can answer some questions. People here and there wonder why Minister-Tighten-the-Belt was robbed so close to Black Rock.

Isnt´t your not so gifted Kingpin ruling St. Michael North West and the many drug soldiers there? So was it an internal DEM fight between two ministers to raise much needed cash for the party? Or was the purpose to intimidate the other members of government to prepare declaration of emergency status to stop next elections?

  13. Former AG Marshall posted the following to Facebook:

    Dale Marshall

    4 hrs ·

So….. you should note that the Deed or conveyance is dated December 29th 2014. What that means is that on that date, the Four Seasons lands were sold for US $32 million dollars. Yet, in the presenting his Budget on the 16th August, 2016, the Minister of Finance states that the government only a few days before had signed an agreement to sell

the Four Seasons Project. (You can check the Barbados Advocate of Wednesday 17th August 2016 to confirm this. )

The Minister clearly lied to Parliament, since the property had already been sold and conveyed since in 2014. Lying to Parliament is considered to be the most grievous of offences that a Parliamentarian can commit and it is met with the severest of sanctions.

Please don’t get distracted by the use of the term Project, since the only thing that government could ever have sold was the lands, since the government has a charge over the lands.

Why the need to lie about the deal back

then, Mr. Minister? Surely you knew that the sale had long before been concluded, since the Ministry of Finance would have received US $32 million dollars. That is too big a foreign exchange injection to have been missed by you.

    So…….what’s the real story, Chris?

  14. The real story is that members of the BLP may have had knowledge of the sale in 2014.

I find it difficult to believe that they stayed silent until now.

  32. The government sold a property to Pharliciple Inc.

  36. Well Well @ Cut and Paste @ Your Service Avatar

that registered company could be a front for a shadow company that is why there are continuing worldwide investigations in panama and paradise papers…companies within companies that practice taxpayer fraud and other crimes…the current intent is to make it all transparent and public, not secretive and criminal…as is starting to look like the case with this unknown company.

the existence of corporate affairs is for companies to file PUBLIC INFORMATION about their existence and quarterly, semi or annual financial reports….not empty folders.

    FSC should investigate this company.

  37. WWC, “I bet he said nothing about that to bajans living in Barbados.”

ya making things worse for Fruendel Tron, i spent the last 24 hours on the warpath after seeing for myself how badly a state of dilapidation and decay Fruendel and his gang has left the stadium, it is horrible to see, i was sure it was condemned years ago, i was equally sure Fruendel had millions of tax dollars to throw independence fete, millions to fete tourists every month, but none to fix and upgrade the stadium so that the islands children could have a future in international sports…and that was only the second reason.

during all that time, the giant protrusion of an air conditioner sits in Kensington doing very little, when it can be retrofitted to be a stadium, it would have cost much less than independence celebrations.

one more reason to rid the island of this government.

it did not help any that i was recently exposed to the racists the ministry of education keep in the schools to systematically destroy the minds of young black children, those actions are clear human rights violations against helpless Black children, its bad enough against adults but its a double crime against children unable to fight back…both governments have encouraged these crimes against Black children, by not ridding the schools of their well known racists…they know who they are, now i know them as well.

ask John Liesalot, the revelation quieted him, because he knows his ilk who have done it for many, many years…because he knows what the racists have been doing in the schools, he tries the same psychological tactics on adults on BU every day.

another reason to rid the island of this government and invoke human rights violations against the ministry of education and any future governments.

protect your children from the racists in the schools.

Isn’t your response a bit commensurate to the Chair of a public liability company telling its shareholders that it is none of their business to know who are the owners of a company in which a large slice of their retained earnings have just been invested or the names of the beneficial owner of a lending institution providing a large loan needed to retrofit the production line of the business?

Doesn’t the executive arm of the Bajan government have a fiduciary duty to taxpayers’ through their representatives in Parliament?

Isn’t this more so required through a course of natural justice in light of an electoral pledge to be a strict guardian of the following pillar of good governance?

“Why Good governance? Good Governance is characterized by the principles of participation, consensus, accountability, transparency, responsiveness, effectiveness and efficiency, equity and inclusion, and the rule of law. It assures that corruption is minimized, the views of minorities are taken into account and that the voices of the most vulnerable in society are heard in decision-making and the allocation of resources.”

    @miller

The “investment” if you will, was made by Pharlicilple. And it was the purchase of land, not an ongoing business relationship.
Based on other documents, one of the listed vendors, Clearwater Bay Ltd [CBL] was an entity owned by the people of Barbados via the GoB.
“”Clearwater Bay Limited” means the company incorporated under the Companies Act under the name “Clearwater Bay Limited”, and wholly owned and controlled by the Government for use as a special purpose vehicle to facilitate the recommencement of the Four
    Seasons Development project;

The other listed vendor is Paradise 88 Ltd, whose ownership is unknown beyond being a Barbados registered company.

Hence, the onus is upon the GoB to explain the circumstances surrounding the transaction as it pertains to their entity CBL.
This explanation would include the process of sale, why the price obtained was the “best possible”, and the cost/losses incurred by CBL in executing the transaction. The legal documents also identify the purchaser as a company incorporated under the Companies Act, Pharliciple.

Beyond this, it is quite conceivable, nobody representing CBL nor P88, know who the beneficial owner/s of the purchaser is/are.

I appreciate, the concern is this is a sweetheart/underhanded deal. That can be better understood, once one is informed of the due process of the sale itself.
