  1. Well I am thoroughly enjoying how the BLP apologists on this thread & site are eating up this LEC issue ?

Rest assured, the Dems have nothing to prove but will – in due course to reveal the mess – that MAM carried ?

    Stay there and sweat

  2. Fooling Angela Skeete, Cox, ac or whatever name they choose to use is a “simple and easy” task.

The LEC shiite is just a distraction………

When we should be focusing this “discussion” on why Donville Inniss piloted an Order to grant FISCAL INCENTIVES to a man convicted of election fraud……. we are wasting time discussing the LEC.

    You are correct!!!
We all know that the DEMS are engaging in acts of “political distractions,” “political grandstanding” and “political expediency” as it relates to this LEC issue.”

    Absolutely a big distraction.

This topic is as annoying as if I presented an aside to this blog that Pres DT’s hold on the White House has finally started to show its first real slippage with these indictments and that to distract he shouts loudly that the real collusion with Russia is Clinton and her paying for an oppo research dossier or her husband getting $500Gs to talk BS in Russia.

Artax, you would cuss me going and coming…LOL.

The DLP fellows should definitely get wash way in cuss too.

Will Mia order an investigation into Donville and convicted Del Mastro and the 4 companies he allowed into the island and the other mknisters and civil servants or private people involved, companies now convicted of money laundering and other crimes worldwide, companies he refuses to name. .. …

…..and if found guilty of criminality, will Mia protect the people of Barbados by having her very good friend Dumbville pay for his crimes.

    Celebration day in US…which whisk(e)y….

“The spelling depends on the whiskey’s—or whisky’s—country of origin.

Irish and American products, such as bourbon, rye and Tennessee, are known as whiskey and are spelled with an e. Products produced in Scotland, Canada and Japan are spelled without the e.”

  7. It’s similar to how we spell “neighbour” with a “u,” while the yanks and others spell it “neighbor” without the “u.” No big thing…………….

    @ dpD

I agree with you, “The DLP fellows should definitely get wash way in cuss too.”

I highlighted the ignorance of the topic, which provoked the ire of Angela Cox/Skeete/ac, who was under the mistaken opinion that by mentioning Mottley and the LEC, she had “mashed my toes” or offended me in some way.

This is how “corned beef & biscuits,” DLP yard-fowls react………… indicate to their folly to them and you’re automatically deemed to be a supporter of the BLP.

    ++++++++++++++++++++

And speaking of “Pres DT’s hold on the White House,” I just read that “a former Trump campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos, struck a cooperation agreement with Special Counsel Robert Mueller, SECRETLY PLEADING GUILTY three weeks ago to LYING to federal agents about his contacts with Kremlin-connected Russians.”

“White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said that Papadopoulos had an “extremely limited” role with the campaign. “It was a volunteer position and again, no activity was ever done in an official capacity on behalf of the campaign in that regard,” she said at a briefing.”

No yardfowls able to answer if Mia will have Donville investigated, I thought Enuff woul jump at the opportunity….

Knowing Huckabee is a chronic liar, not even trump supporters believe that, everyone knows…that….

“George Papadopoulos, the Donald Trump foreign policy adviser who attempted to set up meetings between the Trump campaign and Russian government leaders — including President Vladimir Putin himself — has admitted lying to the FBI about his connections to Russia. Papadopoulos entered a guilty plea to the “making false statements” charge back on October 5, according to reports Monday morning. The foreign policy aide, who was once described by Trump himself as “an excellent guy,” had been named last week as a “person of interest” in the Russia investigation by leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee.”

  9. Artax,
The spelling does not just depend on the country of original, according to the resident cut and paste artist. Scotch whisky is legally defined, and they are very active in enforcing it. The Japanese and Indians tried in the past making ‘whisky’ and they took them to court. Of course, they can make whiskey.
It is why I have said here on many occasions that we need to legally define Barbadian (Bajan) rum, if not there is nothing to prevent the Chinese, French and others from making Bajan rum. Once the term becomes generic, similarly to Demerara sugar, there is nothing we can do about it.

This is so serious, with at least one Caribbean island named in these investigations…..will Caribbean ministers ever learn, you would think they learned after Allen Sanfird of Antigua, but no, they now have Asot Michael in UK…now this..

“President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort and another former aide Rick Gates has been placed under house arrest after an appearance at a Washington DC court.

Both men pleaded not guilty to a series of charges in a 12-count indictment, ranging from money laundering to acting as unregistered agents of Ukraine’s former pro-Russian government.

If convicted Mr Manafort could face up to 80 years in prison and Mr Gates up to 70, with the charge of money laundering carrying a maximum 20-year sentence on its own.”

Bushie operation and management are not necessarily the same, and a professional structure could be one where a public body manages the system but the operators are private. Management: fare setting, marketing, route expansion, infrastructure, buses etc.
Operators (tendering): drivers, meet service standards etc
Other contract services: mechanics, bodywork, IT, bus builders

Your proposal would make sound economic and ‘uniquely niche’ marketing’ sense if the main raw material (molasses) was produced locally instead of being imported from Brasil and elsewhere.

So called Barbados rum is now totally ‘bastardized’.

We can understand the requirement to import the glass bottles and plastic containers for the retailing of the knock-down rum or even the oak barrels for aging the ‘imitation’ spirits.
But, hell No to the molasses!

    Barbados rum what.
Those days of real Bajan ‘nips’ and ‘3 gills’ of Pretty Girl and Calypso bottled on Roebuck Street by J&R, A &A, S&S or even ESAF (Eat, Sleep and Fp) and sold from a ‘speakeasy’ in the Back Ivy are long gone.

We do not always agree….but you are correct.
This is the ongoing challenge with so many bodies.
The NIS structures an Investment Plan, it is approved, and those charged with executing the plan, do something else? This IS a management issue.

  18. Trademark and Branding: Champagne from France all others is sparkling wine; Whisky (also called Scotch) from Scotland, the rest is bourbon or Rye. Countries jealously guard the language associated with these products and these rights are written into international trade agreements.

Nupak has a product in Toronto and the name in large font reads “Barbados Hot Pepper Sauce”, however if you examine the label on the bottle it reads “Product of Trinidad & Tobago” ( first de Flying Fish now dey claiming de hot sauce the Trinidadization of Bim continues).

A friend’s family owns some property in Jamaica’s famed Blue Mountains region, however they are prohibited from selling any coffee grown there as “Blue Mountain” coffee, they have to sell it to the company that owns the right to the name which then markets it as “Blue Mountain “ Coffee.

  19. Sargeant,

You got it in one. The real problem is that in a country with a higher per capita number of lawyers, and a parliament dominated by lawyers, we still have not secured Barbadian rum in law. Blue Mountain coffee is owned by the Japanese, the same way that Mount Gay is owned by the French.
We cannot make Cornish pasties in Barbados, but in Cornwall they can make cou-cou.

  20. @Artax, this entire LEC episode and the more important scandals bubbling in the Bajan political scene and too this Mueller investigation of all things Trump both remind me of that movie ‘A Few Good Men’.

We need some of them (and women) in public life right about now.

But most importantly, in the movie the Colonel was asked a direct question which if answered would have incriminated him in a grave crime.

His powerful retort was all to true… “You (We) can’t handle the truth!…”

Often I wonder if we could really handle the truth of how absolutely devious, dangerous and utterly conniving some of our politicians and business leaders really are.

@WWC I am deeply impressed, There I was thinking that Mueller was appointed because the Dep AG was distraught to hear the President say he fired Comey to relieve pressure and due to all the other commess with AG Sessions et al.

But it was all due to a million signatory petition. Signs and wonders never cease!

The challenge is how do you insulate the ‘competent’ management from the political interference; sometimes on a daily basis?

What does management do when the Board is beholden to some misfit potentially bribe-taking minister like the Lowedown?

Transportation might be seen as a public good but one that can be more efficiently and effectively performed by the private sector even within a regulatory framework. The generation and distribution of electricity is done within such a regulated private sector framework.

Why not public transportation and even water; just for the sake of the nation’s economic future?

Let the State continue to do what it is good at. That is, protecting its citizens and enforcing the laws of the land.

The question of ownership whether local, foreign or a combination thereof ought to the kernel of the discussion.

No need to be impressed sarcastically or otherwise, the petition was signed by and originated from millions of people via blog to a certain agency to appoint a special counsel in January 2017……to investigate a russian connection because sane people did not trust trump.

    A petition =

“A petition is a request to do something, most commonly addressed to a government official or public entity. Petitions to a deity are a form of prayer called supplication. In the colloquial sense, a petition is a document addressed to some official and signed by numerous individuals.”

After that happened.., trump being the idiot he is, seeked to obstruct Comey……no need to wonder why a special counsel was immediately put on the case. …along with several different investigation simultaneously taking place still.

I dont need you impressed. …you need to stop being pretensive and acting like you only had a basic education and have to always think you are showing up other people…

    Now that would be impressive.

You should do more research on petitions. …they actually work.

Tom Steyer’s petition to impeach President Trump has reportedly gathered more than 1 million signatures in the 10 days since the Democratic mega-donor started his campaign.

Sissy is generally used torefer to females.

Please note that women do not play these foolish games.

This game playing is essentially a bunch of men in a pissing competition, to see you can pee the farthest. Women don’t do this.

Former Peterborough Conservative MP Dean Del Mastro and his cousin David Del Mastro have announced plans to build a solar farm in Cuba – even though their earlier plan to build one in Barbados never got off the ground.

The Del Mastros are in business together: David is president and CEO of Deltro Group, and Dean is vice-president and chief financial officer.

In late 2015, they announced they would be building a $40-million solar panel manufacturing plant and solar farm in Barbados. It was expected open in the spring of 2016.

But Barbadian media reported on Wednesday that it was never built, though Del Mastro told reporters there this week that it’s still in the works – and that Deltro has plans for yet another solar farm in Cuba.

Dean Del Mastro couldn’t be reached for comment Friday.

He’s on bail these days, having applied to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada his conviction for overspending on his election campaign in 2008 and taking steps to cover it up.

In February, Del Mastro told Barbadian reporters that Deltro had received the municipal approvals needed to allow construction to begin construction on the solar farm in Barbados.

But he said the project was delayed because $4 million in tariffs had been placed on the manufacturing line that he’d had shipped to the island.

Meanwhile, a press release issued this week by Deltro Group states that the firm has been awarded a new contract to build, own and operate a similar solar farm in northwestern Cuba.

  30. @ David,

Canadian companies have been “investing” in Cuba for years.

They probably doan give a puck about the politics of Del Mastro.

  31. 2005: Two Canadian energy conglomerates, Sherritt International and Pebercan Inc, have

discovered a new oil field off Cuba’s northern coast containing 100 million barrels of oil.
