Your source is misleading BU.
Scotia bought the CGI building at Warrens and gave Republic Bank notice to quit because Scotia wanted that prime location.
Republic Bank did not intend to move until its building, that would be directly opposite, is completed. Unfortunately, Republic Bank ran into difficulty because their lot is directly over a cave. They were forced to get Barrack to utilise the open space under the Warrens Office Complex to provide temporary accommodation until they worked out how to utilise their cave. Republic Bank bought the lot and only did soil testing after the fact. The reduction in the savings rate worked out well.

Thomas Harris, Peter Harris’ brother never denied the CGI building was sold to Scotia Bank, he is just making up excuses for the sale, because it was supposed to stay a secret, now that it’s out, they are trying to justify it.
Knowing Peter Harris, it’s safe to say he is up to no good as usual.

It is very difficult make sense or do financial calculations of what goes on in Barbados. Half billion or hundred million dollars deals appear as if we are talking about nickles and dimes. Tens of millions of dollars as if we are talking of pennies.
At the end of it one has to ask the question ‘Did the nation benefit or just a select few?’
I very much doubt that you would see many politicians of different ethnicities running for office in Barbados. Why would they? The black politicians are their best champions.

Bajans are being warned, if you have car and home insurance policies with CGI Insurance, find a new insurance provider as soon as possible, CLICO policyholders were not given that opportunity and according to some who have started getting back some of their money recently, they are not getting it in their hands, but checks are being cut, through Chris Sinckler, to pay directly to people and companies they owe.
Clico victims are still waiting to get their money in their hands, stay way from life insurance companies, they are thieves colluding with government ministers to rob the people.

0If he were still the Freundel Stuart-led Democratic Labour Party (DLP) Government’s chief economic advisor, former Chairman of Government’s Council of Economic Advisors Sir Frank Alleyne would tell the administration it must privatize some state entities.
Addressing Friday’s DLP lunchtime lecture on Fiscal Consolidation in Small Developing Economies at the party’s George Street, Belleville, St Michael headquarters, Sir Frank said privatization should not be brushed aside as Government seeks to cut expenditure and reduce its deficit.
“Privatization should never be put aside. This economy we are in is a mixed economy. Therefore, my view is that productive investments should be left to the private sector. They are best able to do that,” Sir Frank said.
Over the past five years Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler has been advised by all manner of accountants and economists of the need to look seriously at selling off a number of loss-making state entities, including the country’s lone television broadcaster, the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation, and its primary garbage collector, the Sanitation Service Authority.
While Sir Frank did not go into detail as to which entity should be placed in the hands of the private sector or how soon, he made it clear Government should divest some entities while holding on to the role of regulator.
“Government’s strength is in regulation. Sometimes Government will have to play the leading role in getting something [developed], but as soon as you get that idea firmly planted and developed it becomes what you call a demonstration. This is what is possible. Once you have done that you should get rid of it. Don’t hold that investment which should probably be in the private sector because what you are doing is using the private sector people’s money, my money and your money to compete against us,” the respected economist explained.

Hal….there is no regulation in Barbados, all any of them have to hear is the operators of a business got money and right away from those in parliament coming down look for their cut, their bribe, never mind the money being collected is from the poorest in society…..they all have the mentality of being socialized as the lowest class, just grab what they can, hand to mouth and hungry.
When the then supervisor of insurance said Clico was breaking the law, the same government got rid of him and many attributed it to lies and rumor, now there is CGI selling it’s building and not a word to policyholders or the public….bajans like being ripped off.

The ministers ignored their own laws and stole 30 million dollars of taxpayer’s money to give Maloney to build crap….hie much of that money dod he spend on that cheap looking building, hiw many millions did he keep for himself, hpw much of it was divvied up among the ministers who refused to present themselves to PAC to account for the money.
How many times over the last 9 years have the government ministers broken the laws, dipped their hands in taxpayer’s money and given it away to crooks.

I like what I do, but every now and then I read something that made me wish I studied literature.
The behavior, language and antics of the politician reminds me of Animal Farm. Freundel with his reluctance to talk reminds me of how the pigs wanted to interact with the humans and ignore the rest of the animals.
The changing to a republic reminds me of how Napolean changed the name from Animal Farm to Manor farm
The enrichment of a minority is reminiscent of how Napolean continuously sought approval of the humans.
At the end of Animal Farm there is a blurring of the pigs and the humans. I am sitting here waiting to see Freundel being transformed into one of the minorities.
The Bajans outside looked from the political class to the money class , and from the money class to political class, and from the political class to the money class again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.
