There is the oft saying “Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.” The Cahill Energy project, with all its warts, will be known as the project that dispelled the feint notion the Democratic Labour Party is the change agent many hoped for.

Several documents, voice recordings and discussions are a matter of record to support the conclusion that Cahill waste to energy project is a scam to feather the nest of a few in Barbados. Here are a few more documents:

    Bim is doomed. Government paying 10-12 % interest when every clever local buzzynessman or consumer can borrow large sums for much less, let alone consumers around the globe getting mortgages for 1-2 %.

    The market never lies. Collecting money in NYC, Geneva, Zurich and London is no game like playing around in parliament, court or church in front of the clueless masses and journalists, easily impressed by badges, medals and other postcolonial mockery. CreditSuisse and the other financial aristocrats look at numbers, not at any titles like QC, pastor and so on.

    Where I know that from? Ask the Barbadian bankers working for the British and Swiss financial entities ruling Bim.

    Noboy will borrow Bim a cent at 1st rate conditions BEFORE the structural overhead (ministries, courts, churches) is reduced by at least 50 %. The boom in tourisms does not remedy this issue. In the meantime the interest for the current debts is paid by new debts. And so on.

    We need a home-grown Maggie Thatcher.

    The cachill project will fail.
    Reason:
    The war between OPEC & Shale oil has caused oil prices to plummet.
    Big Oil is dying, Warren Buffet just dumped his stock, & BP suffered massive losses.
    OPEC members Venezuela, Nigeria ,other in trouble.

    Low oil prices leads to a low fuel adjustment clause.
    The fuel adjustment clause continues to decline: Nov2015 (20.4) , Dec2015 (19.7)
    & Jan2016(15.8)
    Burning garbage will not be cost effective.

    Agreed but it was never cost effective even when this project was conceived at much higher oil prices. Everything you read about plasma gasification for MSW indicates that more energy goes in than comes out ( to put it in layman’s terms).

I can deal with the insults but what I cannot deal with a person who preached and lambasted the BLP about poor governance and corruption in 200u

    I heard that a creature on DLPTV last nite saying that the cost of money is too high to repair eroded beaches in Bim.Stuart and Sinckler said Moodys dont matter.With swine like the ugly,corrupt,blak albino, lowedown,not even IADB will entertain this thieving corrupt government in bona fide loans for bona fides projects like beach reversion.

    I have never sought to over invoiced, or paid a bribe at the expense of the taxpayers of Barbados or otherwise. Neither have anyone deposited any monies in any overseas account or bought property for my benefit!

    So wheel and come again. The Future Centre Trust is APOLITICAL and funding comes from such places as IIADB. We will never squander our Apolitical status as an organization.

    Lowe life’s whinings in parliament is another attempt a deflecting attention away from his involvement in the big deception that is Cahill.
    If the ministries of health and or environment did their jobs right the landfills would work correctly recycling and proper waste management is needed not this lowelife stonewalling the people of Barbados with scams and fraudsters like cahil and the likes.
    If The Cahill solution is so good for us all why is it still a figment of his imagination with no meaningful progress since the signing of the contracts .

    Clear the contracts signed by the 4 amigos are in breach and neither Cahill or the government have met their obligations under the contracts.
    Where is the attorney general ???
    These contracts are unenforceable.
    Unless
    These assssholes bulldoze an amendment to the agreements resetting the clock “without fault” so Cahill get a new timeline to start again
    We should also be careful they don’t change the key words “plasma gasification” in the contracts . That will allow the flood gates to be opened to other as devisive technologies to be introduced to get the government off the hook.

    Greenland was wrong and two wrongs don`t make a right.
    Electricty will be costing more than what Barbados Light & Power currently charges
    Why sign an agreement before EIAS and Town Planning approval
    No Cheaper electricity.
    No ongoing Air Quality Monitoring exist and who will monitor
    The Environmental Protection Department lacks the staff and equipment to police and monitor
    30 Year Guarantee on all waste which could be extended
    Guaranteed Price increase every three years
    Government has to purchase all the electricity to be resold to the gid
    Importation of Garbage
    Are finders fees included in the mobilization agreement and if so is it 19%
    How much water will be extracted from the wells to be dug
    Why is the water extracted to be free
    Who for a fool bills a factory on a hill
    Who monitors for nano particles

    Dr Denis Lowe it seems you are a law unto yourself. Remember, the term grandfathering.

Would it not lend more credibility to the cause if others serving in capacities utter their positions on why Cahill must be a No NO? We all know that Lowe has showed numerous times a good set of his scum, but he backed by the PM on this forward move. The future centre trust needs more voices. When will the campaign against the government’s nasty move will commence?

    I believe that the original IADB loan for Greenland included monies for setting-up separation and recycling of waste by everyone in the country. It was never intended that all garbage would go to Greenland. It was to be recycled or composted at Vaucluse and then unrecyclable waste was to be compacted and carried to Greenland. I don’t know what happened to the money for that part of the IADB deal, but the separation and recycling was never carried out and we now find ourselves in this sorry mess.

So with Lowe telling all his adversaries and opposers that he is going ahead with his scam to get his cut out of Cahill, and that if the opposition could waste a 100 million on Greenland without accounting for the money, he do not see any reason why he and his minions cannot go ahead with Cahill and get what is theres.     Barbados has signed on with Cahill Energy to build and operate a gasification waste to energy facility in the island.

    Making this announcement in the House of Assembly yesterday, Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler said the plant would be based in Vaucluse, St. Thomas.

    “A major international energy company out of Canada is proposing and will invest in Barbados a minimum of US$240 million with the potential to rise to US$340 million and it portends massive spin-offs for this local economy. Indeed, coming at a time when the country has seen a softening of its foreign direct investment inflows for the last two years it is a much welcome investment of foreign exchange into the Barbadian economy over the next three years,” he revealed.

    Guernsey-based Cahill Energy finances, builds, owns and operates utility-scale Waste to Energy plants in key markets.

    Meanwhile, Dr. Denis S. Lowe, Minister of Environment was reported as saying: “Cahill Energy offers us a real solution to becoming energy independent, while at the same time reducing our massive oil import bill. Cahill Energy has brought a Waste to Energy option to the Government of Barbados that is far superior to any other we have examined. We believe that our country will be changed forever as a result.”

    In fact, Cahill is not ““A major international energy company out of Canada”…. The only thing Canadian about Cahill is its CEO, Marie Elizabeth Clare Cowan, who documents suggest is simply the front “man” for a group of Bajan bizzymens.

    Guernsey-based Cahill Energy has never financed, built, owned or operated a utility-scale Waste to Energy plant, or anything else anywhere.

    Cahill is a shell company registered in Guernsey – its only apparent asset is a website which includes no financial information or names of officers and directors.

    “GOVERNMENT WILL not be “walking back” from its position that waste to energy is the way to go for Barbados, even if some people want to take it “to the guillotine” over the issue.

    A defiant Minister of Environment Dr Denis Lowe made this vow as he came out swinging against critics of the energy-from-waste concept as proposed by Cahill Energy.”

    Dr. Lowe may have been correct that “our country will be changed forever as a result” His and his DLP cohorts refusal to fess-up and “walk back” from this deal may forever cause international investors to “walk back” from any legitimate opportunities to invest in Barbados.

    When they picked Clare Cowan as the conduit for this investment the clearly didn’t do their homework
    This woman is an enigmatic character.
    She is essentially a bankrupt with no visible means of income!!
    Cahill energy is indeed a shell company with zero revenues and zero projects or plants anywhere in the world.

    Looking at her Canadian tax return she is clearly living on past glory and her wits.
    How can a sovereign government continue to support this non company.
    It’s a travesty.
