Let all your friends know that we have a RARE OPPORTUNITY to see a Bajan film let alone a Bajan youth film at a London cinema – ‪”PAYDAY‬” 15 December 2014.

We have also spoken a lot about engaging the youths with their roots back home so let us also encourage young people in the UK to experience their Caribbean heritage via the cinema screen. Flyer attached.

The Bajan youth film “Payday” has its UK première at the Stratford Picturehouse, London.

Tickets £7.50 via 08719-025740 or http://bit.ly/1uogn5w

The award-winning “Payday” is a Caribbean youth comedy drama which showcases a raw slice of Barbadian community life all within one day. The story is about two best friends (Romie and Pack) who, trying to escape their boring jobs and demanding families, put their entire salaries into a down payment on a car repair garage. But setting up in business is hilariously complicated by crazy ex-girlfriends, violent drug men and eccentric villagers …

The multi-award winning Payday was so popular in Barbados that it screened every day to packed audiences for thirteen weeks solid!

Q&A: post-screening discussion with production team and cast live from Barbados (via Skype)

Supporting films: Rebecca’s Story (Guyana), Small World (UK-Jamaica).

i think the language will be difficult for the English to fully understand and appreciate, of course the Bajans and other west Indians should have no problem

  11. Watch this film three times and was impress with the barbadiana way of life. Although I was taken back with the level of cussing in the earlier part of the movie, I was able to look at the broader picture where the stars were focused on opening a car garage. If we can except unnecessary brutal killings from Hollywood. you can except or cussing culture. The movie was real bajan attitude. Love it.

  12. @Tell me Why

More cursing that Girl on Fire?

  13. Nope. But you can picture yourself on the block. You will hear between the cussing, someone coming up with a feasible proposition. To get the guise you must overlook the cussing and except the story line.
