2000-FEB: United Arab Emirates: Kartini binti Karim, (a.k.a. Ms. Karteen Karikanderan), an unmarried citizen of Indonesia, was working as a housemaid in the United Arab Emirates when her pregnancy was detected. She and a man — a citizen of India — were charged with adultery. She was convicted; he fled the country before he could be arrested. She was placed on trial without a lawyer or a translator, “…alone and equipped with barely any word of the local language,” . She was not told that she had a right to communicate with her embassy. Her embassy was not informed in advance of the trial. Under the UAE’s form of Sharia, she was sentenced to death by stoning. The Indonesian government hired a lawyer and translator to appeal her case. 3 On APR-25, the appeals court reduced her sentence to one year in prison, followed by deportation.
2000-AUG: A woman, “Amina Abdullahi is sentenced to 100 lashes in the state of Zamfara for having premarital sex.”
2000-NOV: Attine Tanko, 18, is found guilty of having pre-marital sex out of wedlock. She was discovered to be pregnant. Her sentence of 100 lashes was deferred for up to two years after the birth, so that she could breastfeed her baby. Her boyfriend, 23, was flogged 100 times and given jail time.
2001-SEP: Nigeria: A teenage single mother, Bariya Ibrahim Magazu claimed at trial that she was raped by three men. The court assumed that she was guilty, because she could not prove that her father pressured her to engage in sexual activity with the men. She was found guilty of two offenses: having pre-marital sex, and bringing false charges against the men that she claimed were responsible. Her sentence was 180 lashes.

I am putting it to you that if Zoe or anyone can believe or accept the Old Testament doctrines as read in Leviticus and Deuteronomy then he or they can accept the principles and practices of Sharia. There is no difference whatsoever.

In the years from Adam to Moses, people still died, proving that sin existed in the world.

“The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, [Jews, the children of Israel] who are all of us here alive this day.” [1450 BC] Deuteronomy 5:3.
Are Christians under law? NO!
Some people believe that the Law is just the Ten Commandments. Actually, the Law of Moses contains 613 commandments covering everything from blood sacrifices to men’s haircuts to rape and murder to clothing restrictions to gardening to sexual worship of false gods to sewage disposal to charging interest on loans.
These 613 Commandments are found in the first five books of the Bible. Christians usually call the five books of Moses the Pentatuch. Jews refer to the five books of Moses as Torah

there also was a time not so long ago that a race of people were denied their human rights with laws which were designed by religious law and upheld by countries and states. hopefully we have come far and in our quest to be right we have not forgotten that many a people fought and died to break those chains and chart a path forward for what is now know as civil rights. we as a people should not stand by and say or do nothing because we want to be right but but should use our vitriol to condemn any church or state law which would adhere to taking away a person human rights and should be be repulse by such treatments let us learn from history that as a people looking out for the “civil and human rights” of each other is a :” right to do so” and not just a privilege.

Talking about human rights. First there has to be a distinction between human rights and civil rights. We consider that civil rights are only a subset of human rights. Westerners skillfully avoid the real understanding or implementation of HR and prefer civil rights so that they do not have to deal with certain human rights which they see as anathema to capitalism. These could include to the right not to be poor, the right to all life sustaining needs, the rights of Pachamama – water, food, education, to elect/remove governments, right to be a free-thinker etc. It is a mistake to assume that the western model of rights is to be accepted without question. A lot of this discussion wrongly assume that Islamic women are somehow eternally mistreated when a proper reading of the situation may lead one to the view that by Islamic standard women are no less well treated when compared to other major religions. In fact the research suggest that by Islamic standards, which are higher than christian standards for the proper treatment of women, the reverse is true.
Bahrain is a prime example that the blind followers of the holy trinity of capitalism, christianity and hegemony will never talk about. The presence of an American military base in Manama allows a despotic regime to sentence a genuine human rights activist Abdulhaki Al-Khawaji, a number of medical work and citizens to life in jail for treating protestors who were merely exercising their ‘human rights’. Al-Khawaji has done something that no one alive has ever done. Within a Bahraini population of about one million he was able to inspire over 600,000 people to stage protests in Manama. Eighty (80) Bahrainis have been murdered but still they insist on a nonviolence struggle. This represents equivalent to over 25,000 Americans. Could you tell us what the Western response would be if their geo-political foe in Iran had killed this percentage of its population? The bleeding heart christian would be all over the media. What the christian ‘sheeple’ don’t understanding is that all these issues, including religion, have no intrinsic value but are merely window dressing to serve finance capitalists.

… (Umar) found the Prophet sitting sad and silent with his wives around him. … (Umar) decided to say something which would make the Prophet laugh, so he said, “Messenger of God, I wish you had seen the daughter of Kharija when she asked me for extra money and I got up and slapped her on the neck.” God’s messenger laughed and said, “They are around me as you see asking for extra money.” Abu Bakr then got up, went to A’isha and slapped her on the neck, and Umar did the same to Hafsa. Narrated Aisha: A necklace of mine was lost at Al-Baida’ and we were on our way to Medina. The Prophet made his camel kneel down and dismounted and laid his head on my lap and slept. Abu Bakr came to me and hit me violently on the chest and said, “You have detained the people because of a necklace.” … (Bukhari: vol. 6, bk. 60, no. 132, Khan)
Muhammad’s companions beat their own wives.
Iyas b. Abdullah reported God’s messenger as saying, “Do not beat God’s handmaidens;” but when `Umar came to God’s messenger and said, “The women have become emboldened towards their husbands,” he gave licence to beat them. Then many women went round God’s messenger’s family complaining of their husbands, and he said, “Many women have gone around complaining of their husbands. Those are not the best among you.” Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, and Darimi transmitted it. (Mishkat Al-Masabih: vol. 2, p. 692)
In the Qur’an Muhammad commanded that beating was part of the process for controlling a rebellious wife.
And those (wives) you fear may be rebellious admonish; banish them to their couches, and beat them. (Qur’an 4:34, Arberry)
`Umar reported the Prophet as saying, “A man will not be asked about why he beat his wife.” Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it. (Mishkat Al-Masabih: vol. 2, p. 693)
A woman has the right not to be hit in the face.
Hakim b. Mu`awiya al-Qushairi quoted his father as telling that he asked, “Messenger of God, what right can any wife demand of her husband?” He replied, “That you should give her food to eat, clothe her when you clothe yourself, not strike her on the face, and do not revile her or seperate from her except in the house.” Ahmad, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it. (Mishkat Al-Masabih: vol. 2, p. 691)
The husband’s right to beat his wife is Shariah law in every school of Islam.

Women are your fields: go, then, into your fields whence you please. (Qur’an 2:223, Dawood)Muhammad gave strong warnings to women who would not accommodate their husband’s or master’s desire.
Talq b. `Ali reported God’s messenger as saying, “When a man calls his wife to satisfy his desire she must go to him even if she is occupied at the oven.” Tirmidhi transmitted it. (Mishkat Al-Masabih: vol. 2, p. 691)
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (p.) said, “if a man invites his wife to sleep with him an she refuses to come to him, then angels send their curses on her till morning.” (Bukhari: vol. 7, bk. 62, no. 121, Khan)

Pastor Nadarkhani is facing execution in Iran for abandoning Islam.
Pastor Nadarkhani of the Church of Iran denomination was arrested in his home city of Rasht in 2009, soon after questioning the Muslim monopoly of religious instruction for children in Iran, which he felt was unconstitutional.
He was charged, tried, found guilty of apostasy, and sentenced to EXECUTION.
He’s been in prison ever since and, on at least four occasions, has been pressured to renounce his faith in exchange for a lifting of the death sentence. -
