  1. To quote Timothy Wilken who graciously shared a preview of his soon to be released book:

“To solve today’s problems and exit our current human crisis will require
nothing less than the creation of Enlightened CommUnities. We humans can build a better world for ourselves, for our children, and for our children’s children, but to do so we will have to work together and act responsibly. We will have to change our minds as individuals, and we will have to change our behaviors both as individuals and as community.

Fortunately, we humans live in a knowable world — a world that can be
understood by observation, measurement, and experience of the physical world — a world that can be understood by observation, pattern modeling, and experience of the metaphysical world.”

  2. I understand that what we see is not the worse that happens at some of these parties, many times it gets very wild and the young people expose themselves in public. I guess someone will say, what they do at a private party is not the responsibility of the police, but that is were we allow our moral standards to fall to an all time low. Time we arrest this situation and bring laws to curb the vulgar behaviour of today’s youth, we need to protect them from themselves. Out of this culture we are having too many young girls under thirty years of age with five to eight children from just as many males. Today many are regreting their slack behaviour when they were joung

  3. isn’t there a law against indecent exposure which applies to persons knowingly exposing certain areas of the human anatomy which are considered private and should be clothed or covered up when in public or public view,

  4. In the USA children under the age of 21 years are not allowed in night clubs, also they are not allowed to drink alcohol, but it is not unusual to find fifteen year olds in St Lawrence Gap on weekends and drunk too. Many are victims then of older men; our moral have fallen to an all time low,, but we can’t just blame the youth, it is a combination of evils that has caused this.

  5. ac
Yes, but at a private party, is it in the pubilc’s view? What about the many adult clubs here in Barbados where even some executives promotes and some of these have very young girls dancing before them in the nude or very scantily dressed. What about the private yachts that take some of these young girls out at night for private entertainment out to sea, an no-one bothers to distrub them? there are a lot of things that happens in this little country with our youth that would make what we see here look like a Sunday School party.

  6. Check the many young girls who do simple jobs during the day but are driving the posh cars and SUVs. How do you think they got those and they owe no-one financial company or bank for them? Even some school children have more money than we adults and they are dressed in the very latest every show in Barbados.

  7. @ The Scout

“… but it is not unusual to find fifteen year olds in St Lawrence Gap on weekends and drunk too..”

Now the f*ck do you know this ..?!

  8. And by the way girls with the ordinary jobs and the fancy cars may very well be driving their parents’ or boy friend’s cars …

  9. BAFBFP
Is St Lawrence Gap a restricted area? Does one have to have a permit to be in St Lawrence Gap? There are places in St. Lawrence Gap and Dover where adults congregate and have healthy fun, maybe you can pass there one night.

  10. BAFBFP
As a H.C boy, you’re either dumb or ignorant of what’s going on in Barbados, or you’re just trying to believe it’s not happening , but WAKE UP my lad and see what’s going on, get to know about the executive adult/nude parties that are held behind electronic gates, about the wife swooping, about the immoral acts that are done almost every week end in Barbados. If you don’t know about it, it is because either you don’t want to know or you pretend they don’t happen. Maybe you need an exoctic massage.

  11. Random Thoughts Avatar

Quoting Scout “executive adult/nude parties that are held behind electronic gates, about the wife swooping”

And these things are being done by school children?

Or I nay ask so what? When I was just a youth way back in the 60’s one of our SIRS he wasn’t a sir then, divorced his wife and married his brother’s wife. We subsequently knighted him and he and his brother’s wife went on to live happily ever after, even until today. And we hold them up an Pentecostal Christian examplars in this society. And I didn’t hear anybody calling for any locking up. And now we want to lock up school girls for dancing?

You old frauds make me sick

  12. Random Thoughts Avatar

Quoting Yardbroom ” warn the young lady that if she continues to dance in that manner so attired, she will be arrested for indecent behaviour. If she persists arrest her immediately”

So Yardbroom I see both boys and girls dancing in this video, and yet you are planning to have only the gilrs arrested.

    Why?

What is it about old men that they are so anxious to police the behaviour of women, especially of young women?

Just today I was talking to a friend. She is an old woman who taught elementary school for more that 40 years. She put a good chuck of her gratuity in CLICO’s flexible executive annuities. Now she has been retired a few years and she would like her money back, especially as she has an adult child who is sick an unemployable. Yet I don’t hear the Yardbrooms of Barbados and the Caribbean calling for the arrest of CLICO executives here or in Trinidad.
Is it because the CLICO executives are the friends of dead and living Prime MInisters?
Is is because old women who taught our snotty nosed children for more than 40 years are unlikely to have belonged to the right lodge.
When will we realize that many of our children have lost all respect for us because they know that we are a bunch of old time frauds?

  13. Random Thoughts Avatar

Dear Yardbroom: I guarantee you that nobody in that room was outraged.

However I am outraged that my Prime MInister Freundel Stuart claims Leroy Parris of CLICO as a friend.

Shall we lock up the PM then because I can assure you, he outrages me everyday.

  14. @Random

Why can’t you stay on point?

We are discussing the behaviour of a group of children and CLICO yet again has to find its way into the conversation?

Would you want your 13 year old daughter or son for that matter engaging in that bullshite behaviour?

  15. Random Thoughts Avatar

Quoting moneybrian “. Indeed I had a few experiences where really over heated females demanded sex in front of other friends!”

Don’t know where you went to school or what sort of people you hung out with, but as I approach pensionable age I’ve never yet heard anyone demand sex of anyone else.

But maybe moneybrain you are not only a lot brighter than me, but I guess a lot better looking too.

  16. Random Thoughts Avatar

Quoting moneybrain “This kind of premature action does NOT occur in many societies including Singapore, Muslim countries etc.

Maybe moneybrain becasue when a Muslim girl is 16 she has already whether she likes it or not been taking “legal” doggie for years. In other words at her first menstrual period the girl has been married off to a first or second cousin who is likely twice her age. Ain’t that the truth money brain?
So therefore as a 16 year old married with a child or 2 or 3 (whether she likes it or not) she has no time for wikking up. And besides Islam forbids dancing for everybody. But Christiany encourges dancing. One of the folks who know the Scriptures better that me will tell you that somebody danced in the temple before the Lord. In fact the dancing of JUdiasm and subsequently Christianity is the exact reason why Islam forbids dancing. Dancing is sensual and sexy. Stll Islam does not forbig 13 year old girls from tekking man, in fact encourages barely pubescent girls to take as much man as they like (once it is theri husband) even if he has a dozen other wives. As I said go figure.vGo figure.

    Dear moneybrian:

You live in Canada I think. Is it not true that the Shafia famly, father, mother and teenage son are currently on trial for the first degree murders of 3 daughters of the family and the father’s first polygamous wife. Is it not true that when the men in the family could not control the bahaviour of the 13, 17 and 19 year old and thier 52 year old stepmother the 4 ended up dead, dead, dead. And is it not true that one of the things that bothered the father is that one of the girls sent pictures of herself in her underwear to her boyfriend?

Don’t take my work for it google “Shafia”

  17. @ David

Random Thoughts is damn on Mark. Morality is not like Scout says, in fact I believe it immoral to speak with confidence on a subject and not demonstrate some qualification or experience. It is also damned immoral to assume that I am from Crumpton Street High, immoral to continue the labeling of two of Barbados’ many high schools as Colleges when they are NOT, and immoral as Prime Minister to refer to the head of a very offensive and irresponsible institution in Barbados as a “friend”. Nudity and displaying of sexuality by school children might very well be inappropriate behavior, but immorality is not an issue here

  18. Quoting David “Would you want your 13 year old daughter or son for that matter engaging in that bullshite behaviour?”

Actually they have, and so have I, and so has our foremothers.

None of us came to any harm. We all remain fit and healthy way, way, way into extreme old age. Dancing is good for the health. Very, very good.

Dancing cannot get a girl pregnant.

A girl can only become pregnant when an older boy or adult man puts his penis into her vagina. I think that we should be calling on men to control their penises. Or is that too hard? (Pun intended)

  19. Sigh, the actions/behaviours of the person today must be assessed against the climate operating today.

To compare what you did of ever long ago is like comparing Lara with Sobers.

  20. We act as though dancing is sex. It is not. And eve sex is not new. Young people have always had esx. I am her reading the Sunday Sun page 32A and B. In this article Professor (now Sr) Mickey Waldron speaking of 1964 is quoted as saying “There were lots of uyoung women who wer e having miscarriages, abortions – some of them induced abortions illegally”

These young women who were pregnant and aborting in 1964 must have been born between 1924 and 1949. The QEH gave them D&C’s, and IUD’s and they went back to being our respectable mothers, grandmothers, big sisters and aunties. And some of our men also born before 1950 must have been the ones who impregnated them, and must also have encouraged or compelled them to abort.

Cause don’t tell me that they were impregnated by little green men from mars.

  21. David the way a girl or woman become pregnant has not changed in maybe 2 million years. Dancing does not cause pregnancy. It didn’t 2 million years ago and it does not now. The best thing we can do for our teenaged girls is for our men to keep their penises in their pants. Or may I ask again. Is that too hard?

  22. I am sure that you know that the statistics have been collected and most 16 year olds who become pregnant. become pregnant by MEN who are on average 10 years older. And yet we have people on this blog calling for the arrest of dancing school girls.

And yes David it is IMMORAL for CLICO to deprive elderly, sick poor widows and orphans of their money. But I suspect that just as Leroy is Freundel’s friend, that you too are Fruendel’s friend.

Neither of them is my friend. I choose my freinds very, very carefully.

  23. Quoting moneybrain “This kind of premature action does NOT occur in many societies including Singapore, Muslim countries etc.

Dear moneybrain Methinks that you have spent too much time in your counting house. When a Saudi girl and her mother goes for a skiing holiday in Switzerland even though neither of them can ski don’t you think that it is possible that expensive, secretative Swiss clinics will perform abortions as needed, and will restore the girls hymen so that her virginity is restored.

If the Saudi and other Muslim men ever discoverd how many of them are married to recycled virgins all hell would break loose.

But Swiss clinics are as secretative as Swiss banks.

But just as you know banking secrets some of us know medical secrets.

Rest assured that Muslim girls are just as sexual as Bajan girls.

  24. @ David
…after all the Bushman’s efforts and you still arguing with a woman…..

  25. @Bush Tea

One would have hoped that a woman would be horrified at the behaviour captured on the video.

  26. What is clear to me is that women understand morality a hell of a lot better than men. Probably explains why Church is traditionally a male dominated institution …

  27. We don’t arrest adulterers in Barbados even though adultery does great harm to the “family units” we so love to talk about. In fact a good number of adulteres have and will in future receive our highewst national honors

But we want to talk nonsense about arresting fully clothed dancing schoolgirls, most of whom judging form the video are minors?

If we arrest them for dirty dancing now, when they grow up and perchance commit adultery against thier self important husbands, shall we execute them then?

David I can’t be silent when alledgely intelligent people write foolishness.

  28. David I am horrified that Leroy Parris is still walking ’bout, free as a bird, while my school teacher friend (40 years in the workforce) cries in vain for her money.

And MY Prime MInister Freundel Stuart tells us that Leroy Parris is his friend.

    THAT HORRIFIES ME.

  29. When will we realize that many of our children have lost all respect for us because they know that we are a bunch of old time frauds?

    When?

  30. @BAFBFP
Bro it would not be good for your reputation if I was still in 3rdForm and still exposing your sometimes illogical rants. Be careful what you wish for.LOL

  31. @RT
It was in my haste that I omitted qualification, it should have been to a significantly less extent.

The Shafia case supports my point that the consequences of early illicit sexual activity is very severe in certain societies! Therefore logic dictates that teen sex outside of marriage is much lower in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia et al Muslim nations. Now that is NOT to suggest that marrying 9 yr old girls for sex does not occur and IMHO is very wrong!

  32. @Scout

You should be charged under the laws of Slander, libel et al for suggesting in writing that BAFBFP went to HC! That maybe the gaffe of this millenium!

Worse yet, is that the said BAFBFP did not accept that very generous accolade but we know he can be an ingrate! LOL

  33. @RT
You state that older boys or adults must put their penises into a girl for her to become pregnant.

NOT at all accurate since my wife is significantly older than I!
The male has to be produce sperm with healthy, active swimmers!

  34. @Random

You must have heard the CoP and his Deputy quoted in the news that their investigations are soon to be completed and a recommendation will be made shortly to the DPP. Why are you preempting the ‘process’?

  35. If Leroy Parris is the Prime Minister’s friend, then I feel sorry for Leroy Parris as he has a clown for a friend.

  36. Random Thoughts Avatar

    Thanks for the correction moneybrain..
    David I ain’t preempting anything.
We charge the Trade Confirmers people yet?
We charge Walther Mathisen yet? Has he been convicted? Has he served his time? If he fled Barbaods, have we made any effort to get him back?
And those two children wh drowned at Gibbes in Mehnert’s swimmming pool? We charge anybody yet, or do 2 dead working class infants not matter? Because that house was built in zone 1 long after the area was zoned 1. Have we ever asked how come that house/pool was built in zone one? Who gave permission to build? Do we want to know? Or are we happy ignoring corruption in government offices? And while we are asking David is Lucille Baird’s Church not located in zone 1, right above the “Bullseye” resorvoir? Who gave permission to put a church there? Or won’t we mind if holy shit escapes into our drinking water.
As I said our children are bad behaved because they recognize us for what we truly are, not what we would like to pretend to be. Only in Barbados a country where serial fornicators and adulterers are given the highest national honors and where an old man seriously suggests that we send senior police officials into school halls so that we can charge school girls for receiving fully clothed jucks.
And yet we know very well that when a school girl becomes pregnant, it is mostly by grown men, and not by the teenaged boys who gave her harmless jucks in the school hall.
And if we are going to charge the juckee, what do we do with the jucker? And what do we do about the teachers who stand in locus parentis, and who clearly excercised a laspe of judgement, and failed to properly supervise their charges, and do we charge the person who made the videophotograph with making pornography, and do we charge David the blogger with disseminating pornography? And finally when will we start charging old men with terminal stupidity.

  37. Hi Random Thoughts,
I did not make a comment here – this thread – about Clico, the mentally ill, domestic violence, violence in general, drugs and the list is endless because those topics were not in the thread. Wukking up “of a kind” by young children is and the impact the same is having on society….plain and simple.

To include other transgressions not mentioned by me, as taking a hypocritical stance is to be disingenuous to the extreme, if it were not you Random Thoughts, I would not have bothered to reply, but you know of what you write.

We must separate political affiliation from serious discussion as it often skews the argument. If I am outraged it is with the perpetrators of the act. It matters not where they were born, who their parents are, their position in society, their colour or their financial position or political bias,if any.

That is a fault of some of us, we see misdeeds through a narrow focus of peripheral things and thus people are not guilty because of who they are, unfortunately that is at the “root” of Barbadian society.

I can assure you Random Thoughts I am not against wukking up or young people enjoying themselves, but I am against a slow slide into moral decay that goes against what makes us a better people and leads to a more caring honest and decent society. If I am attacked for that stance, so be it.

Ps. I take this position not from any Religious perspective but only because I believe it is the right thing to do. It has nothing to do with a BLP or DLP perspective it is greater than that, it started before those illustrious Political Parties and will last long after they are gone….it is what makes us what we are as human beings.

Oh shite man I ain’ stope laffiin’ yet … Oh God I got tears in my eyse .. can’ even se tp tpye straight . ha haha ha

  39. Sorry to say this video has showed me 2 disturbing facts.

    1) Children nowadays need to learn to dance as what they are doing is called “daggering” and not the traditional “wukking up “dance of most bajans.

2)Some of the adults who posted regarding this video apparently have no idea of how children and adults are to conduct themselves.

The latter is especially shameful as if the adults are unable to identify the differences between accepted and unaccepted conduct, pray tell how they are supposed to teach their children.

In the end holding a girl and “stroking” her as if she was in a “popular” sexual position isn’t considered as dancing (especially when out of rhythm). I would like to see how many of you readers out there would like to walk into a class room and see your daughter being pushed up to a wall with a man who has half of his pants down and his boxers showing pounding away at her rear while she stands there with a big smile on her face. If you cant see something wrong with this, then you need the kind of help which I can’t offer you at present.

    I wish you all well!

  40. Quoting Yardbroom “We must separate political affiliation from serious discussion ”

    ???

    What political affiliation?

I’ve never been affiliated with any political party. And if you have I’ve not noticed.

Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. Proverbs 22:15
Dear David on December 1, 2011 at 9:26 PM you wrote “Next time BU will push it under the rug”
I did not ask BU to push anything under the rug. My argument is that children as written in Proverbs are foolish. They were foolish 3,000 years ago when Proverbs was written, and they WILL still be foolish 3,000 years from now when all of us are dead and forgotten. Since we all acknowledge the foolishness of children, we as adults have a responsibility not to publicly shame them. Note that the Proverbs recommends that children be corrected, and a further reading of Proverbs will show that correction is best done by loving parents. In the abscence of loving parents, and since this event took place at school, the teachers who stand in loco parentis should have corrected the children; or asked the parents to come to the school to correct the children. We who have commented on this blog, do not know these children. We do not love them, and we have no effective or practical way of correcting them. We can only shame them in front of 7 billion people.
Dear David: If these were your children who were dirty dancing I am sure that you would not have posted this video on the internet for all 7 billion people in the world to see. You as all loving parents do would have corrected your children privately. You certainly would not have wanted the police to arrest them as Yardbroom recommends.
Dear David: The golden rule is still true “do unto other people’s children as you would have done unto your own children.”

“If these were your children who were dirty dancing I am sure that you would not have posted this video on the internet for all 7 billion people in the world to see.”

What a random coincidence! 7 billion people on Earth so 7 billion people have access and use the internet. A Quantum leap of statistical correlation out of this world!
Random Thoughts, if you knew what’s already out there in cyberspace and also right here in our adult yard you would ease up on the youngsters doing a bit of “dirty” dancing!

  43. Random Thoughts Avatar

Ok that 7 billion include those not yet born but who may at some time in teh future come across David’s BU.

  44. whats this stripper dance that everyone is doing?

  45. Beloved Rosemary. You save me from typing. I am one with you. oh. just in case no one has noticed, these are Sodom and Gomorrah dispensations of time, any and every thing goes in the Lost minds.

    Rosemary Parkinson | December 2, 2011 at 5:45 AM |

There is no one to blame but ourselves. Strange behavioral influences have always been around. Time to take stock of what we are doing on this rock of ours instead of pointing fingers all the time and trying to put the blame on anyone but us. Not one of those children could be or would be mine…and if one was and I recognized it, that child would nevah see a party evah again until he/she became an adult with responsibility. There is not much more to say…except perhaps one thing…when I look at some of the comments above, and some comments on other blogs, I can see why this behaviour is taking place amongst our youth and further, during the celebration of our independence – a celebration that should be conducted with some form of decorum because of its symbolism which seems to be lost today…no problem with having fun and dancing but this is outrageously bad. And BU thanks for exposing (and do not pardon the pun!). Shame on all of us. Pure shame.

  46. Didnt you guys have any school days….. Yes its harmless fun….. I remember the school ‘jams’ at end of term, Christmas and/or Independence we had back in the day; and we did this same kind of thing (not going to overboard; yes I dont think this is too overboard)
