Here is a link which explains it all.  At the core of the discussion, she shoots a man in the video.

I am here in Baltimore at the first Rihanna Loud Concert in the USA. I am in awe watching some 15,000 people of all ethnicities screaming, clapping, and cheering, waving the Broken Trident for this young, sensational, and talented Barbadian Rockstar! Barbados…she is one of ours and she delivers!

Allison D’Hayle That’s great Adrian. I just returned from Europe and she is HUGE there. I don’t think that bajans really understand the effect she has on the world. That girl has made her mark. I was extremely proud as I moved through Italy and Paris and could hear her music everywhere

I echo your sentiments completely Alison. It really is a spectacle! I witnessed young ladies with hair paint spraying their hair red! I witnessed people singing along to songs word for word, that I myself didn’t know. Rihanna sold out this venue for the first show of her new tour and executed flawlessly. I saw the crowd go wild for the now controversial "Man Down" and bobbed their heads to the pulsating rhythm of the beat. Let me bold to say that we need to protect her and try to understand the world/industry in which she does her work. We may not always understand or like what she does, but does that define who she is as a person or does it define her as an astute businesswoman! Two different things.

    Got this from Mail Online:
More than S&M? Rihanna strips off into a revealing two-piece outfit as she displays her most risqué dance moves yet

    Share
She has a history of highly-sexualised and provocative performances.
But last night Rihanna took it to another level as she took to the stage for her Loud tour in Baltimore, Maryland.
The 23-year-old singer pulled out all the stops to get temperatures rising as she slipped into a revealing pair of hot-pants and a bra and thrusted her way through her songs with some of her most risqué dance moves yet.

Provocative: Last night pop star Rihanna took provocative to another level as she took to the stage for her Loud tour in Baltimore, Maryland
The Bajan star’s embellished two-piece left little to the imagination as it clung tightly to her dangerous curves.
She paired the racy look with some hot-pink vinyl ankle boots and giant florescent hoop earrings to add extra wow factor.
Starting out the performance in a metallic blue mini-trench she stripped down on stage into the revealing attire, much to the delight of the crowd.

Sexually charged: The singer pulled out all the stops to get temperatures rising by slipping into a revealing hot-pants and bra as she thrusted her way through her songs with some of her most risqué dance moves yet
Then, in a series of suggestive moves, Rihanna proceeded to crawl around on her hands and knees, grind her hips and make gestures to her crotch.
The crowd went even more crazy when the pop star greeted her fans as she knelled on the stage.
The risqué performance comes after Rihanna was forced to defend her controversial new music video Man Down, insisting ‘this is the real world’.
Taking to Twitter, she attacked her critics, claiming she was a ‘rockstar not a parent’ and saying she had ‘the freedom to make art’.

Revealing: The Bajan star’s embellished two-piece left little to the imagination, clinging tightly to her dangerous curves

Skimpy: Her embellished briefs were of the high cut variety
Man Down attracted the wrath of the Parents Television Council, who blasted Rihanna for showing a ‘cold, calculated execution of murder’.
The video shows her taking revenge on a rapist by gunning him down in a crowded train station.
But Rihanna, herself a victim of domestic violence, disagreed with the criticism.
‘I’m a 23 year old rockstar with NO KIDS! What’s up with everybody wanting me to be a parent? I’m just a girl, I can only be your/our voice!’ she wrote.

Fan favourite: The crowd went wild when Rihanna greeted her fans from the stage

Rear view: Rihanna gave the audience an eyeful of her toned derrière
And in an apparent direct response to the PTC she added: ‘Cuz we all know how difficult/embarrassing it is to communicate touchy subject matters to anyone especially our parents!
‘The music industry isn’t exactly Parents R Us! We have the freedom to make art, LET US! Its your job to make sure they don’t turn out like US.’
The council said in a statement: ‘Rihanna’s personal story and status as a celebrity superstar provided a golden opportunity for the singer to send an important message to female victims of rape and domestic violence.

Colourful: The singer also had a graffitied car as one of her stage props and two back-up dances in revealing fringed frocks
‘Instead of telling victims they should seek help, Rihanna released a music video that gives retaliation in the form of premeditated murder the imprimatur of acceptability.’
Media justice group Industry Ears also criticised BET for airing the video.
‘If Chris Brown shot a woman in his new video and BET premiered it, the world would stop,’ Industry Ears co-founder Paul Porter said.

Controversy: The risqué performance comes after Rihanna was forced to defend her controversial new music video Man Down, insisting ‘this is the real world’
‘Rihanna should not get a pass and BET should know better. The video is far from broadcast worthy.’
Today, a defiant Rihanna praised her fans for their support, tweeting: ‘Thank you for the amazing response on ManDownVideo I love you guys, and I love that u GOT IT!!’
It’s the second time in as many weeks Rihanna attracted criticism from the PTC – she was slammed for her kinky performance with Britney Spears at the Billboard Awards.

Electric blue: She started out the performance in a metallic blue mini trench before stripping down on stage into the revealing attire
Last year, Rihanna was also criticised for being too provocative when she performed her hit song What’s My Name, for the X Factor finale in the UK.
Once again she thrusted her way through her solo performance in tiny pants and strapless bra.
The X Factor had 3,215 complaints lodged with the regulator making it the most moaned-about show last year. with no other programme coming close to talent show.

  10. OMARION SPEAKS ABOUT RIHANNA ILLUMINATI RUMOURS “THERE’S A VERY DARK AND SINISTER SIDE OF THE BUSINESS”
Fast forward to now [and] it really made me think that there is a [time as an artist] where there’s going to be a choice. The[entertainment] world [dictates] that you have to be with three or four women, or do this in order to get that [and] I think it’s really interesting. With God and the industry, it’s really dark. The dark side is having to get in, there’s a certain submission you need to have. Just like a gang [initiation], so to speak. You might have to do something against your moral code. I’m not saying that it’s always this way, but when you’re someone that is young and you’re coming up in the industry and you really don’t have a grip on your morals it can be very dark. The game is just about over saturation.

I don’t know if Rihanna [has fallen victim to those pressures]. I’ve never really heard her speak about it. I hope that she doesn’t believe in that stuff and I don’t think that she does, but I don’t know. It’s not just been a Rihanna thing, [there’s has been religious speculation] about a lot of artists.

  11. @ KIKI

I have resisted making any comment on this young woman less my personal feelings spill over in a egregious RANT*…

But let me ask you a simple question…

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT IT IS POSSIBLE FOR RIHANNA WITH ALL HER SHENANIGANS TO BE STILL UNTAINTED FROM THE SOPHISTRY OF SATANIC WORSHIP & THE DARK, LURID UNDERWORLD OF THE OCCULT?

Intellectual honesty should produce a resoundingly negative answer!!!

  12. Rihanna’s Shame Over Jay-Z Rumors

RIHANNA was so embarrassed by rumors she landed her record deal by embarking on a sexual relationship with JAY-Z, she couldn’t look him in the face.

Stories surfaced alleging the Umbrella beauty was more than just the rapper’s business acquaintance when she first made it into the industry.
And even Rihanna’s close friends in her native Barbados believed she’d jumped into bed with the hip-hop mogul to seal the deal – but she insists the false stories left her cringing.

She says, “It was like: ‘Of course she had to give Jay-Z oral sex to get that deal.’ That rumour was everywhere in Barbados and it was so disgusting. It made me feel really weird. I would even be weird around Jay-Z. I wouldn’t be able to look him in the eye.

“One day, he called and he was like, ‘Yo, you can’t buy into these rumours. You can’t let people move you with anything they say.’ The rumours got very funny to me after that.”

  13. What is lamentable is that the Fenty’s seem incapable of engineering any real direction for Rihanna’s life and she’s left to run amuck…

She is clearly going down the wrong road – embracing the shadows in the darkness without being cognizant of the consequences…

Sadly, if she is not careful, like artistes before her who crashed and burned – she too will find herself so engulfed by the miasma of the darkness around her that it is going to overwhelm and destroy her eventually.

Like others who are equally deluded, she is setting a terrible example for her young, impressionable audience and there is nothing amusing about how these subliminal effects play out in everyday life in our social and personal relationships.

But the blind will continue to lead the blind until they ALL* fall into a bottomless pit…

  15. Used to the Rihanna ‘controversy. So, just watched the video, listened to the lyrics.

This is a Work of Art. The levells of imagery, double-meaning and the messages even, ensure that this results in a tremendous piece of work.

I reallty fail to understand the objection, On an artistic level, this may be Rihanna’s best work yet.

Similarly to the queries on many musical pieces, such as the above mentioned Bohemian Rhapsody, for which the explanations above reflect the many meanings, all valid, this generates the same.

I even saw a news piece where a woman criticised Police’s (Sting) Every Breath You Take ridiculously, for in her opinion, validating stalking.

Some interpretations can be valid, some ridiculous, albeit art will always result in many interpretations.

Surely some can see the imagery of the gun and her shooting a man in Central Station being purely abstract, referring to emotional cut down.

Certainly, it can be taken literally, but then one must revert to the literal meaning of hurt and devastation generated by a rape, thus the retaliation, not necessarily right, but heartfelt?

Further, in such retaliation is the expressed regret, the angst that followed the retribution, yet resulting from an undeniable answer to a humiliation, a devastation?

Alternately, the angst could be the hurt from destroying not the man, but his emotions, the imagery of the vioence being just as real as killing a man’s heart, sticky situation that resulted in her retalisation and destruction of his emotional being, yet then regret?

    A Work of Art.

  16. @Mr TB [Hope you ain’t angry shouting using your CAPS LOCKS]
There is illuminati symbolism on the dollar bill which to me represents corruption in power
.. and in so much negative music promoted that big people don’t notice the tits and arses / swearing and guns images (let alone the damage caused to sensitive children). When positive music breaks then the industry perverts it and certain DJ’s like westwood and rodigan promote it

  17. @KIKI

Please don’t deduce what has not been inferred…

Remember the ‘ole BAJAN* maxim – “STICK & STONES…”

I am yet to see any real positivity coming out of the BOWELS* of the entertainment industry…

Hip-Hop as a genre has been hijacked by DEMONIC* forces and like the SEX*, DRUGS & ROCK ‘n’ ROLL movement of the 1960’s had come home to roost in the 20th century… The emergence of HIP-HOP in the 1980’s is coming home to roost now in the 21st century and its pervasiveness is being felt especially amongst our young men & women who are being brainwashed with a new decadent form of amoral socialization…

It easily simplistic for “FOOLS” to jump on to any bandwagon because as people we are happy to “WORSHIP” celebrities; have the utmost respect for “IMBECILES” who have a few pieces of paper of depreciable value sitting in an investment bank; or have masked themselves with some illusory facade (or IMAGE) that we buy into through mass mediazation…

All this reverence and worship of other human beings who frankly can’t even save themselves from a down-pour of rain, we are quick to defend, laud and applaud as if they were “gods”…

How pathetic can we really be!!!

For the record, I will NEVER* be silent on the issues!!!

If you ask me (OR NOT), be prepared for a radical interventionist position that will not pull any punches…

    Take it or leave it!!!

  18. May GOD* have mercy on RIHANNA* – she SOLD* her SOUL* for a morsel of bread….

I wonder if she knows the “PRICE” and the COST* that will be incurred to “BUY” it back?

The wages of sin is DEATH*** – but the “GIFT” of GOD* is eternal life through JESUS CHRIST* our Lord!!!

  19. Unfortunately the powers that be will shortly clampdown on all forms of questioning authority’s stories with any hypotheses on the internet and will lick perpetrator’s with a beating stick to keep y’all under manners

  20. Farhan has produced an 11 video research diary and I have given you the 1st one above… The evidence is there for anyone to judge for themselves… If in good conscious after exploring the evidence anyone can safely say that what they have seen is not deleterious and terminally injurious to a quality life – then “FOOLS” are willing to walk where “ANGELS” will fear to trod…

  21. If music is the means of communicating in the black community to create the tribal unity then the illuminati deliberately corrupt children’s mind to divide and rule by creating disunity and no harmony, so drink your wine to feel fine
